#GreedyForWaste – KO-440M17 refuse truck on MAZ-5340 chassis
KOMMASH Plant has launched serial production of its advanced new model, the #GreedyForWaste KO-440M17 refuse truck mounted on the MAZ-5340 chassis. The equipment of this model on a JAC chassis was presented in 2025 at the specialized exhibitions Wasma 2025 and WasteTech 2025, where it received high praise from industry professionals. Subsequent field tests at customers’ operational sites confirmed the vehicle’s reliability and efficiency, fully meeting modern requirements for the collection, compaction, and transportation of municipal solid waste.

The KO-440M17 refuse truck on the MAZ-5340 chassis is ideally suited for Russian operating conditions and offers an optimal price-to-quality ratio.
Key performance indicators of the KO-440M17:
• Compaction cycle time: up to 20 seconds
• Compaction force: 35,500 kgf
• Container capacity: up to 110 containers of 1.1 m³ each
• Tested waste load capacity: up to 9,000 kg
Additional specifications:
• Body volume: 16 m³
• Hopper capacity: 2 m³
• Manipulator lifting capacity: 800 kg
The new model is equipped with an innovative control system that enables:
• Adjustment of compaction force and speed depending on waste type and volume, ensuring maximum body utilization;
• Reduced operation time through automation of container lifting and tipping, compaction, and unloading processes;
• Monitoring of hydraulic system pressure to prevent excessive body load, reducing the risk of breakdowns and accidents;
• Improved driver visibility and situational control through integration with a 360-degree camera system.
All signature features of the #GreedyForWaste series – already recognized as a KOMMASH hallmark and highly appreciated by customers – are fully implemented in the new KO-440M17 model:
• Feed plate hydraulic cylinders positioned externally on the side walls of the hopper to extend service life;
• Thermal diffusion galvanizing of the most corrosion-prone metal components;
• Reinforced hopper floor with 8 mm stiffening ribs;
• Anti-spillage apron to prevent waste scattering during container unloading;
• Enlarged sealing between the body and rear door to ensure tightness;
• Maximum ground clearance between the hopper bottom and road surface for improved off-road performance at landfill sites.
The KO-440M17 model on the MAZ-5340 chassis combines maneuverability, high productivity, and adaptability to various operating conditions. It is an optimal solution for municipal services requiring reliable and efficient equipment for waste collection and transportation.
